Going vegan is not easy

I'm not going to lie, I am not perfect and am still trying to transition to becoming vegan. I had fish tacos for lunch and felt bad about it, but I just don't know if I am educated nutritionally enough to give up all animal proteins including fish.

I even lost my personal chef job yesterday because I refused to cook meats. Often times I am unsure what I am doing. The initial energy of the conference has since been muffled by family and friends who don't mind eating animal proteins, and old habits.

What I can commit to right now is being a pescatarian. I hope one day to be completely vegetarian or vegan but it is a process.

What I have recognized is that my mind has become more peaceful and my heart more open. It is hard to describe the feeling, but it is true. Like the old quote says, 'Tell me what you eat and I will tell you who you are.' Food does change the way you think and feel, as everyone probably knows. Gandhi, Leonardo da Vinci, and Einstein were all vegetarians. Why then do we choose old habits to more peace and health? I am the first to say I am not perfect.

Perhaps sharing my journey with you, will help any of you that may be struggling too. I am humbled by the journey. Breaking old habits is not easy, but most good things take patience. God Bless
